Two Write-In Candidates Join the Bloomfield Town Council Race on Election Day
Stefanie Santiago and Stephanie Bootwala are running as write-in candidates for Bloomfield town council in Tuesday's election, against Rosalee Gonzalez, Greg Babula and Sarah Cruz, Patch reported via The Jersey Bee.
Bloomfield voters will have two more choices for town council on Tuesday — they just will not find their names printed on the ballot. Stefanie Santiago and Stephanie Bootwala are running in the Bloomfield town council race as write-in candidates, Patch reported in an item carried by The Jersey Bee on Monday. Write-in candidates' names do not appear on the printed ballot; voters who back them write the name in at the polls.
Santiago and Bootwala are running against Rosalee Gonzalez, Greg Babula and Sarah Cruz, according to the report. The election is Tuesday, Nov. 3 — the same ballot on which Essex County voters decide the U.S. Senate race and the NJ-10 House race covered by this station.
Bloomfield polls are open on the Essex County schedule this station has carried through the early-voting file: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. Early in-person voting in Essex County ended Sunday with 45,145 ballots cast across the county's 11 sites, the Essex County Clerk's Office reported — nearly 8 percent of everyone registered.
