Essex County families have two small, easy outings on the calendar this week, one indoors and one out. Story time with author Francesca Andre is planned on Friday, November 6, at the Newark library's Main Branch, according to the Jersey Bee's Essex County listings, read in full by this desk.
The story time begins at 4 p.m. and will include stories from 'From Cocoon to Wings' and 'A Very Impatient Caterpillar.' Registration is not required, the listings say — families can simply show up at the Main Branch on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, November 7, a sensory hike for ages 1 to 5 and their caregivers is planned with the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland, from 10 to 11 a.m., according to the Jersey Bee's Belleville listings, also read this run. Registration is required for the hike, and tickets are available online for purchase. Between Friday's stories and Saturday's trail, it is a gentle first weekend of November for the county's youngest residents.
