Sunday Is the Final Day of Early Voting in New Jersey, With Essex County Sites Open Until 6 P.M.
Early in-person voting that began Oct. 24 ends Sunday across New Jersey. Essex County voters can cast a ballot at any designated site in the county until 6 p.m., with no appointment needed, ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.

Sunday, Nov. 1, is the final day for early voting in New Jersey before Election Day, NorthJersey.com reported Sunday. Sites that have been open across the state since Oct. 24 are open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no appointment necessary, and voters can cast a ballot at any designated early-voting location in the county where they are registered.
In Essex County, the four Newark early-voting sites — the Branch Brook Park Cherry Blossom Welcome Center, the Essex County Complex Parking Garage, the Weequahic Park Community Center and the West Side Park Community Center — are among the county locations open for the final day, as this station reported when the early-voting period opened.
Statewide, 855,440 early votes had been cast in New Jersey as of Oct. 30, based on data from the New Jersey Secretary of State reported by the University of Florida Election Lab and cited by NorthJersey.com — 350,596 in person and 504,844 by mail. Those figures count ballots cast, not votes for any candidate.
Voters who miss the Sunday deadline vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls in New Jersey are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone in line by 8 p.m. will still be allowed to vote, and vote-by-mail ballots can be returned to a secure drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day or mailed with a Nov. 3 postmark.
