John Washington III Asks Who the People Turn to for Justice, and Calls for an Independent Citizens' Justice Review
The 2028 presidential candidate argues that when a district attorney refuses to pursue a case against the people who enforce the law, justice cannot depend on the institutions being challenged — and he proposes an independent citizens' review to do the asking.

John Washington III, the 2028 presidential candidate, put a direct question to voters on Monday: when the people responsible for enforcing the law are themselves accused of breaking it, and a district attorney declines to pursue the case, who do the people turn to for justice?
John Washington III argued that no district attorney should hold unchecked power over whether a case moves forward, and that when prosecutors or public officials are accused of misconduct, the answer cannot rest with the same local office. “Justice should never depend on political connections, government position, wealth, or influence,” he wrote. He asked, in his words, “Who holds the DA accountable?” and “Who investigates the investigators?”
His answer is an independent citizens' justice review process — a body empowered to review complaints, investigate where warranted and pursue appropriate legal action, while, as he put it, “protecting everyone's constitutional rights.” The proposal would create a pathway to justice that, in his design, “does not depend on the very institutions being challenged.”
He closed the statement with a call to action: “QUESTION THE SYSTEM. DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE.” John Washington III, of San Antonio, Texas, is seeking the presidency in 2028.
