John Washington III Says He Is Done Fighting to Save Political Careers While Americans Struggle
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, argued that politicians who passed laws taking money and rights from the public now ask that same public to stand up and fight for them — and said his fight is for the people, not for politicians who forgot who they work for.

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, accused elected politicians of turning their backs on the people who elected them. “For years, politicians have passed laws that take more money from our pockets and strip away our rights,” he wrote. “But now that the same corrupt system is coming after you, suddenly you want the American people to stand up and fight for you?”
“Where were you when we needed you?” he wrote. “We elected you to fight for us, not become part of the very system hurting us.” John Washington III said that every election, politicians beg voters for their votes, money and loyalty, and then, once they win, turn their backs on the people — and he asked what Americans have to show for it.
John Washington III said he is “done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms,” and that politicians' own political battles are not the public's responsibility. “I'm fighting for the people, not politicians who forgot who they work for,” he wrote. “You work for us. We don't work for you.” He closed: “The people come first. Period.”
