John Washington III Asks Where the Fight Is From Politicians Who Claim to Work for the People
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked how politicians can claim to fight for the people while never holding corrupt officers accountable and never seriously debating an end to property taxes on family homes.

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, challenged politicians who say they work for the people while, in his account, never fighting for them. He wrote, "HOW CAN YOU CLAIM TO WORK FOR THE PEOPLE WHEN YOU NEVER FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE?"
John Washington III said every election season brings the same promises. He wrote that voters hear "I'M WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE!", "I'M FIGHTING FOR THE PEOPLE!" and "I'M HERE TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE!", and he asked, "WHERE IS THE FIGHT?" When police officers abuse their authority or engage in corruption, he asked, why are those politicians not fighting to hold the officers accountable or standing up for the citizens who put them in office.
John Washington III turned to property taxes, asking why politicians always talk about lowering them but never seriously discuss ending property taxes on the homes people own and live in. He asked why a family should spend 20 or 30 years paying off a home only to keep paying property taxes on it for the rest of their lives, and he asked, "WHEN DO THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY GET TO OWN WHAT THEY WORKED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES TO PAY FOR?"
John Washington III also asked how a politician can campaign on lowering property taxes, get elected, and then vote for tax increases, and how many citizens even know what is being voted on when those decisions are made. He closed the statement with three questions: "WHERE IS THE TRANSPARENCY?", "WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?" and "WHERE IS THE REPRESENTATION?"
