Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday in Newark: Clocks Fall Back an Hour at 2 A.M.
Newark residents gain an hour overnight as clocks return to standard time at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 — the earliest date the fall change can fall.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, when clocks move back one hour to 1 a.m., according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, returning Newark and most of the country to standard time.
The 2026 change lands on the earliest date possible. Under federal law, daylight saving time ends on the first Sunday in November, and this year Nov. 1 is itself that Sunday. Most phones and connected devices update on their own; clocks that are set by hand can be turned back before bed on Saturday night.
The shift means sunrise and sunset both arrive about an hour earlier by the clock, bringing brighter mornings and darker evenings through the winter. The station's weather feed puts Sunday in Newark overcast with a high near 62 and a low near 38, with no precipitation expected.
Daylight saving time returns on Sunday, March 14, 2027, under the current federal schedule, unless Congress changes the law before then.
