Early Voting Ends Sunday in Essex County: Newark Sites Open 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. on the Final Day
Sunday, Nov. 1 is the last day of New Jersey's nine-day early voting period. Essex County voters can use any of the county's early sites, including four in Newark, before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election ends Sunday, Nov. 1, closing a nine-day period that began Oct. 24. Essex County's early sites are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, and registered Essex County voters may cast a machine ballot at any designated early site in the county, regardless of where in the county they live. No appointment is necessary.
Newark's four early voting locations are the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center in Branch Brook Park, the Essex County Complex Parking Garage at the West Market Street entrance, the Weequahic Park Community Center, and the West Side Park Community Center at 600 S. 17th St. Essex County runs 11 early sites in total.
Voters who miss the early window still have Election Day itself: polls across New Jersey are open Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and anyone in line by 8 p.m. may still vote. Election Day voting happens at a voter's assigned polling place, which can differ from the early sites.
Mail ballots have their own remaining deadlines. A voter may pick up a mail-in ballot in person from the county clerk until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. A mailed ballot must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and reach the county board of elections by Nov. 9, while ballots placed in a secure drop box or delivered to the board office must arrive by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
