New Jersey Property Tax Relief Deadline Is Nov. 2 — Newark Seniors Got In-Person Help Saturday
Eligible seniors and disabled homeowners file one PAS-1 form for ANCHOR, Senior Freeze and Stay NJ — and the deadline to file is Monday, Nov. 2.

The New Jersey Treasury's Division of Taxation is urging eligible residents to apply for the state's property tax relief programs by the Nov. 2 deadline, according to the division's Oct. 22 announcement. Seniors age 65 and older and disabled homeowners or mobile homeowners can apply for the ANCHOR, Senior Freeze and Stay NJ programs through the single PAS-1 application.
The PAS-1 replaced the former separate Senior Freeze and ANCHOR applications, so eligible taxpayers no longer file separate forms for each program, according to the announcement. Residents under 65 who own or rent property in New Jersey can apply for ANCHOR through the separate ANC-1 application, and both forms can be found and submitted online at propertytaxreliefapp.nj.gov.
In Newark, seniors age 65 and older could get in-person help with the PAS-1 on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Açores Social and Sports Club, 144 Wilson Ave., where representatives assisted with completing the combined application, according to The Jersey Bee's Newark listings sourced to the New Jersey Division of Taxation. A government photo ID was required.
With the Nov. 2 deadline now two days away, Newark residents who missed the Saturday session can still file online through the state's property tax relief application site before the deadline.
