University Hospital Brought Free Health Screenings and Workshops to Newark This Weekend

A free wellness event planned with University Hospital in Newark ran on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 205 South Orange Ave., according to The Jersey Bee's Newark event listings. The event offered health screenings and workshops on both days.

The listings said the event included a catered lunch and live entertainment alongside the screenings and workshops. Mammogram and pap smear appointments could be made online, according to the listings.

The two-day event put preventive care — screenings and women's health appointments — in a single neighborhood location in the city University Hospital serves, on a weekend when working residents could attend during the day.
