Newark Liberty Travel Through Nov. 20: Weekday AirTrain Suspensions, Fare-Gate Testing and Brewster Road Detours
The Port Authority's weekly advisory says AirTrain service to and from the Airport Train Station is suspended weekdays from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 20, with shuttle buses covering terminals, rental cars and P4 parking.

Travelers using Newark Liberty International Airport in the next three weeks will run into three separate pieces of work at the airport station and on its access roads, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's weekly travel advisory for Oct. 30 to Nov. 5, read in full this run.
Through Friday, Nov. 20, AirTrain service to and from the Airport Train Station will be suspended on weekdays from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. for AirTrain Newark replacement work, the advisory says. Shuttle buses will provide service from the Airport Train Station to all terminals, rental cars and P4 daily parking, and AirTrain service between all terminals will not be affected.
Two other items run on shorter clocks. Through Friday, Nov. 13, NJ TRANSIT will be testing and inspecting new fare gates at the airport train station, and passengers are advised to buy NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak tickets ahead of time and allow additional time, with personnel on site daily to help with fare processing. Through Saturday, Nov. 14, NJ TRANSIT trains are operating on a modified schedule because of Portal North Bridge construction, the advisory says.
Drivers get their own detours through Nov. 20: access to P4 Daily Parking from southbound Brewster Road will be detoured, and the entrance to Interstate 78 from Brewster Road near P4 will also be detoured, with minor delays expected, according to the advisory. The Port Authority also advises air travelers at Newark Liberty to use mass transit and to pre-book parking, warning that travelers who do not pre-book will be charged a peak period drive-up surcharge.
