Newark's Leaf Collection Runs Through Jan. 29: Paper Bags Only, Collected Across All Wards on Weekdays
With the clocks back and leaves coming down, Newark's seasonal leaf collection is under way — yard waste is picked up across all wards on weekdays, and leaves must be out in biodegradable paper bags.

Newark's leaf collection season runs from Oct. 14 through Jan. 29, according to the city's collection schedule reported by The Jersey Bee from Patch Newark. Yard waste is collected across all wards on weekdays during the season.
The rule residents most often miss is the bag: leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags. Leaves left in plastic bags or loose at the curb are not part of the collection as the schedule describes it.
The season covers the full fall drop and the early-winter cleanup, running nearly three and a half months to the end of January. Residents putting leaves out this week join a collection that has been running since mid-October, with weekday pickups continuing in every ward through Jan. 29.
