A Sunday Under the Stars in Newark: Planetarium Shows at 1, 2 and 3 P.M. at the Newark Museum of Art
The Alice and Leonard Dreyfuss Planetarium runs Zula Patrol: Down to Earth at 1 and 2 p.m. for younger audiences, then Rising Star: A South African Astronomy Journey at 3 p.m.

Families looking for a Sunday plan in downtown Newark can head under the dome at the Newark Museum of Art, where the Alice and Leonard Dreyfuss Planetarium runs its weekend schedule today. The museum's October planetarium page lists Zula Patrol: Down to Earth at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, recommended for ages 4 and up.
Zula Patrol follows its crew back to Earth's prehistoric past as they try to stop a villain from dumping toxic waste, in a story the museum describes as an educational journey through the formation of Earth and its early life. At 3 p.m., the planetarium switches to Rising Star: A South African Astronomy Journey, recommended for ages 12 and up, an immersive film on Africa's astronomical heritage and the modern observatories probing the universe.
The planetarium sits on the first floor of the museum's Main Building at 49 Washington Street. Shows run at full capacity — 50 people per show — on a first-come, first-served basis, start promptly with no late admission for safety reasons, and food and drink are not allowed in the theater. Planetarium tickets are $10, according to the museum's listings.
